Bailout

Went to the Metro Gallery tonight to see "Bailout" the show I got three drawings accepted into. There were about 50 artists represented and over 120 works. It was nice seeing people (other than the people I see everyday) looking at my work and seem to be interested in it. I'm definitely going to try to get into more shows now.

Here is the postcard for the show

Here is a picture I took in my studio of the three drawings I submitted nicely framed

Here are some pictures from the opening.

Blanket Magazine

I recently submitted an image to the 12th issue of Blanket Magazine, a bi-monthly, free, PDF, art+design+photography magazine "aimed at uncovering new, emerging talent from around the world." Not only was my submission accepted, but it was chosen as the winning entry in reaction to the theme of this particular issue (travel).

Here is the cover of the issue I am featured in

here is the page of the magazine on which my work appears

I will be showing 3 drawings in an upcoming show at the Metro Gallery here in Baltimore this month. Hopefully I can sell something, but if not, I am happy just to be included in the show. It should be a fun night.

I just did an illustration for Pittsburgh City paper this weekend. I spent a good amount of time drawing parachutes and airplanes for this black and white spot. I'm anxious to see how they worked it into the type of the headline.

I just finished a drawing last night that I'll add to my expanding portfolio of personal work that I hope will allow me to show in some galleries in the not so distant future. I feel like I've been getting a pretty good response so far. Aside from galleries, I've been considering making some giclee prints of my work to see if those could sell. Also, I'd like to make a zine, even if it's just a small one. It could be a good promotional idea.
