"Show" time

Right now I am working on artwork for a bunch of different shows (two in Portland, one in Seattle). A few of them are medium sized pieces so I expect they will take a bit longer to do than usual 8x10"-11x14" sized works I am accustomed to.

I just finished an illustration for Baltimore magazine (whom I have worked with on 3 previous occasions). It will be featured in the October issue, which is great since the editorial piece allowed me to draw some slightly spooky content. I'll post pics when it hits shelves.

So much stuff coming up this fall, which I will be sharing with you all in the next couple months.

Until then!

Book By its Cover

There's a entry about my sketchbooks over at the website "Book By Its Cover," a lovely little site run by Julia Rothman (a Brooklyn based illustrator and pattern designer). I took a lot of photos of 3 different sketch books of mine to share with fans of the site. There's some great sketchbook entries on artists like Will Bryant, Mia Christopher, Martha Rich, Calef Brown, Meg Hunt, Lauren Nassef, Katy Horan, Matt Leines, Camilla Engman, Luke Ramsey, Jen Corace and (my fellow MICA alum) Deanna Staffo.

Check it out!

Recently, the nice people over at Proxart asked me if I would be interested in answering a few questions about myself and my art. Check it out! The website is pretty funny if you read the mission statement. I can relate to it so much, living in the suburbs.

"Menagerie" opens tonight at Errata Gallery in Portland Oregon! I am part of this group show, contributing one piece. Wish I could be there to attend, but I'll just have to live vicariously through pictures for the time being :(

Back to business

Things have been busy for me lately. After a 5-day span of being sick with a summer cold and thus totally useless at my work table, I'm back on track now doing some things for upcoming shows. I've got 11 shows I'm participating in from now up till December. After that, who knows.....but right now this is plenty to keep me occupied.

I just mailed some stuff off to Istanbul and Barcelona this week. More on that later.

Next I'm working on a piece for a show in Tucson in September and then need to do 2 more pieces for a fall Portland show, and one 1 piece for a fall Seattle show.

Today I made some more prints available to purchase through Society6. Check em out! Or better yet, snap one up!
