I was invited by Keith Carter to participate in a show he was curating at Pony Club, here in PDX. The theme was "Nostalgia". It was very open so artists could make anything they felt was nostalgic to them. I wasn't really sure what to make, but ended up deciding that sailors always have a nostalgic look to me. The uniform seems like it hasn't changed that much over time. I kind of put mine in a sort of bathing suit, and yes, it's a cat sailor, but I think it achieves that sort of vintage-y photo feel. I wanted the look of a staged photo with a painted backdrop and props. Here is how is turned out:
