2 shirts left!

Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd throw this out there. I have two of these shirts left for purchase. I created the design for this shirt back in 2009 for the band Unholy. They were made in limited quantity and I was given some. I have these two extra. One is an XL and one is a medium. They're 100% cotton and screenprinted. Pretty durable too, not a super lightweight kind of t-shirt. I'm selling these each for $15 flat.

If you want one, please email me: jon@jonmacnair.com

The name of the band is on the back.

Flatcolor Gallery November show - opening reception pics

I was not able to attend the opening of this show I participated in at Flatcolor gallery, but here are some pictures taken by the gallery.

The show ends November 28th.

They're back

About a year ago, I sent all this artwork over to Scotland for a show. Now it's all back here again and available to purchase. You can see better photos on my flickr page.

email me if you're interested :)

Trying to get back on track

Lately things have been kind of scattered and a bit obstacle-laden. That's the best way to describe it I think. Had a multitude of computer problems lately, with hard drive, reinstalling software, drivers, more software. Ugh. It wasn't pretty.

Also had that whole fiasco with a gallery overseas, foreign customs nightmare, language barriers, BAD communication or lack thereof etc etc. That is pretty much over with now though I hope. I bailed on the exhibition. Probably for the better.

Also had some freelance projects fall through, along and some very drawn-out problems with getting paid for a job I did. It's all part of being an artist I know, but all the mishaps have been very concentrated lately. Hoping it will ease up soon and I will get good news of some kind :)

And then of course the holidays are upon us faster than we can turn around. It's crazy.

That's all for now.

Recently sold

These are two drawings I just sold.

"The Inquisitive Come Out at Night" - 2010 - I did this piece for a project initiated by the art collective I am part of.

"Green Shrew" - 2008 - This little sketchy drawing was done several years ago as part of my daily art blog.

Not the norm

This is definitely out of the ordinary for me, but I recently did a watercolor landscape. It was a birthday gift for my grandmother. I used to do more naturalistic watercolor paintings in middle school and high school when I was first getting used to the medium. Now I use it in a totally different way. I was kind of out of practice with this type of work, having not done a watercolor landscape in probably over 10 years. All considering, it came out better than I imagined it would. My grandmother likes it anyway, and that's all that matters really since it is for her.
The scene depicted is imaginary. I used two different photos I took as partial reference, but it's a loose reference. The one photo I took in Vermont, and the other I took in Oregon, totally different sides of the country, funny enough.

Technical difficulties

Yesterday I spent most of the day at the Apple store genius bar. I was at their mercy. My computer decided to start acting like it was having a psychotic episode and I needed to take it in to get looked at. I can't say what the diagnosis was, but they ended up wiping the hard drive clean. UGH. What a PAIN. Not the first time this has happened, so I knew what I was in for. It seems to be working okay now.....spent all of today trying to reinstall everything and get back to some sense of normalcy. Stupid technology.....

Zine from Belgium

I recently traded zines with Martha Verschaffel from Belgium. It's called "Alma Mater" and it's a beautiful little publication that I'm happy to add it to my growing collection of zines.
