At the end of November I had the opportunity to travel to Hamburg Germany for an exhibition opening at Feinkunst Kruger. The show was "Don't Wake Daddy VIII" curated by the talented Heiko Muller. I had the chance to take part in "Don't Wake Daddy VII" last year and was ecstatic to be invited back again. The show was a great mix of international talent, with artists from all over the world, including a good many from the U.S. and Germany too. There was no theme to the show, so artists had free range to create whatever they wanted, and the results were exceptional.
My traveling companions were also in the show. Dan Barry and Robin Coronel from Austin. We stayed at the same hotel and did a lot of sightseeing together. We were fortunate to have excellent tour guides. Heiko took us out one day and showed us around Lubeck, and Ralf (owner of Feinkunst Kruger Gallery) gave us a grand tour of Hamburg. I had never been to Germany before, so it was a whole new experience for me. Good food, good friends, great sights. It was a short but sweet trip overall and new friends were made :)
Below are the 3 pieces I created for the show.
and here are some pictures from the trip!
